GAMUT: Australasian Centre for the Governance and Management of Urban Transport

GAMUT is a collaborative research centre dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable urban transport in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Based at the University of Melbourne, GAMUT works with a network of researchers to focus attention on the need for innovative institutional design for integrated transport systems. GAMUT is one of a global network of Centres of Excellence in Future Urban Transport created by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations, an independent research and educational institution.

Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies

The Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) is Australia's Key Centre of Excellence in Transport and Logistics Research and Education and is based at The University of Sydney. ITLS undertakes graduate teaching, management development programs, grant and contract research and development in the fields of transport and logistics studies.

Institute of Transport Studies

The Institute of Transport Studies, based at Monash University, aims to progress transport knowledge and practice to contribute to the prosperity and sustainability of industry and the wider community. ITS (Monash) conducts transport related research in the fields of transport technology, travel behaviour, road safety and transport/traffic engineering. The Institute also has an extensive program of related activities including publications, participation at conferences, software development and links to other leading transport research institutes.

Social Research in Transport (SORT) Clearinghouse

The Social Research in Transport (SORT) Clearinghouse (operated by the Institute of Transport Studies, Monash University) aims to increase awareness of social issues in transport by making it easier to access research in this area. The Clearinghouse is a repository of research reports, research abstracts and links to research findings. Research can be contributed to the Clearinghouse and there are opportunities to sign up to their free newsletter.
