Yarra Trams: The future of trams in Melbourne

The Keolis Group has recently taken over as operator of the Melbourne tram network, under the banner of Yarra Trams. This presentation was delivered at the Victorian Road Based Public Transport Advisory Committee (VRBPTAC) of VicRoads in May 2010.
It explains the tram network in Melbourne that the new operator is inheriting, opportunities and challenges this network presents, and how Keolis will seek to manage the network. There is an intention by the operator and the department of Transport to move the trams towards a 'Light Rail Network' - this presentation explains what this transition means and will entail.
