Economic Development Activities Supporting Proposals for Rowville Rail and Knox Tram

Program Summary

Printer-friendly version

Knox City Council has long advocated for improved rail-based public transport services in the outer east of Melbourne as long term solutions to public transport gaps.
More specifically this has focused on:

  1. Extension of the Burwood Highway tram service from Vermont South to Knox City (approx. 5km) and eventually to connect with rail at Upper Ferntree Gully Station
  2. Construction of a rail service from Huntingdale Station via North and Wellington Roads to Rowville, approx. 12km
