Victorian Transport Integration Act 2010
Program Summary
The Transport Integration Act 2010 ensures that any one part of the transport system is not considered in isolation. It also emphasises the importance of a sustainable transport system – in economic, environmental and social terms.
The Act requires all agencies responsible for land-use planning to take into account the objectives and principles of the new Act when making decisions that will impact on the transport system.
It also means that transport agencies need to work together toward the common goal of an integrated, sustainable transport system.
